Mariana Stocco
Mariana and I met up for part 2 of our photography experience bright and early on an unseasonably cold April morning at Dumbo. With our meeting time set when most people are still asleep, we were guaranteed a crowd free setting perfect for catching those first glimpses of faint sunshine. The golden warm color of the day’s virgin light did wonders for Mariana and our beautiful city. If only it felt as warm as the photos looked, however. The temperature hovered around a very chilly 33 degrees for the duration of our session. We made it work though!
With the help of a quick pit stop to a coffee shop to warm up and wake up. Mariana was just as patient, responsive, and pleasant to work with as she was during our last meeting. It was her first time visiting Dumbo too, so the added novelty of a new experience made it all the better for us.
We made the rounds of Dumbo before walking over to the Brooklyn Bridge to catch the last of our incredible sunrise. They really do call this time of day (and sunset) “golden hour” for a reason! It was well worth it to wake up a little early for some crowd free fun and great light.
